I had a wonderful swim this morning out to the Avila Rock. Approaching the rock I swung quite a ways to the south to avoid the kelp beds and instead of circling around I came back by the same route. It has been a great spring for the kelp and the kelp beds between the Avila Rock and Fossil Point have grown to the point that there is no open water left to swim through.
There were high scattered clouds, the water temperature was 58°, the air temp was 61° and there was no wind at 6:50 when I got in.
