Heavy marine layer, 5 to 6 foot set waves, and high tide.  It was my weekly bareback swim.  The air temperature was high 60s and the water temperature was low 60s. The combination of a decent swell and a 5.6 high tide had the water pouring over the berm and running high up the beach, all the way to the wall at the old stairs in front of the Inn at Avila Beach.  It was an excellent morning swim.
